My work has involved forecasting in several different settings; emerging risk forecasting in the insurance industry, scientific and medical breakthrough forecasting, predicting future social media influencers, customer retention and churn, and forecasting of economic growth and financial volatility. Often the predictive modelling pipeline leverage the underlying influence network structure of the problem at hand.
Over the past decade I have split my time between academic research and consultancy.
I am trained in mathematics (MSci from Imperial College London, graduating with First Class Honours) and computational finance, artificial intelligence and machine learning (MRes from University College London, graduating with Distinction). My doctoral research (University College London) spanned the fields of AI/ML, finance/economics and computer science.
I have over 10 years of industry experience leveraging machine-learning and AI modelling, computational linguistics and statistics to understand and derive value from unstructured data. Over the years I have applied my skills across several industries ranging from finance, central banking and insurance to the humanitarian sector.
In addition, I am a published author having presented my academic research at venues such as the Bank of England, the European Central Bank, the Federal Reserve, the Institute For New Economic Thinking and NeurIPS.
